The album documents the life of "Di" (Vivian) Garing from a young girl to maturity. Includes portraits of Di with family members, her dog, and engaged in various family and recreational activities such as sleigh riding. Also contains portraits of Maria and John Tennyson, Lady and Sir Henry Lynd (attributed to Julia Margaret Cameron), and three Francis Frith postcards of the Gorges des Trent. The families may be connected to the towns of Cheltenham, Leckhampton, Beckhampton, and Danbury, England.

Francis Frith, was born in Chesterfield, in 1822. An early exponent of photography, Frith set up his own company in 1859 in Reigate, publishing photographic views. He travelled around the world taking photographs and in later years employed additional photographers to satisfy demand.
